CDMA
If we categorize wireless phone systems by their access method , we can classify each system into one of three categories. These access categories are frequency division multiple access( FDMA), time-division multiple access(TDMA),and code-division multiple access(CDMA),with the later representing the focus of this chapter.
This chapter will first describe and discuss the work of Qualcomm, which is the company that primarily developed a large portion of CDMA technologies . Once this is accomplished ,the chapter will examine the technology associated with CDMA, as well as the transmission of data as the wireless access method .Because CDMA was selected recently as the basis for a new generation of broadband wireless transmission ,the chapter will conclude by focusing on this
